Hello world, it’s Tuesday, October 6th.
Google locked up 3.6 GW of nuclear power from Constellation, the largest corporate nuclear deal on record and 5x the Amazon agreement from last week. Marvell raised its FY28 guide to roughly $20 billion and now sees $70-90 billion in revenue by FY31, and Tokyo Electron is forecasting operating profit above ¥1 trillion on surging AI tool orders.

Presented by Crusoe
Crusoe builds AI infrastructure from the ground up — power, data centers, and the cloud on top.
If you’re running open models — GLM, DeepSeek, Kimi, Qwen — Crusoe’s managed inference is fast: up to 9.9x faster time-to-first-token and 5x the throughput of vLLM, thanks to their MemoryAlloy caching layer and tokenizer fastokens. And it’s the easy kind of fast: pick a model, grab an API key and start inference. No GPUs to provision, no infrastructure or clusters to manage, and it’s pay per million tokens.

Google Locks Up 3.6 GW of Nuclear Power in Constellation Megadeal
Google has signed a 3.6-gigawatt power purchase agreement with Constellation Energy, the largest single corporate clean-energy deal on record, securing baseload nuclear capacity across multiple plants over a long-term horizon. The contract runs well into the next decade and spans several Constellation facilities, giving Google a guaranteed electricity supply as its data-center buildout accelerates. Morgan Stanley, per Reuters, now identifies power availability rather than silicon supply as the binding constraint on AI infrastructure expansion, a view this deal appears sized to address. Nvidia and Broadcom retain relative insulation from the crunch, the bank argues, but hyperscalers face a harder ceiling. The agreement is valued in the billions of dollars, according to Bloomberg.
Vik: The deal between Google and Constellation is in response to PJM’s “bring your own power” proposal. This deal is for nuclear power but still relies on the grid. This is a much longer term play, but I think that grid interconnection is still going to be an issue. BTM power with gas turbines is the only near term play (not solid oxide fuel cells btw, lots of raw material availability issues).
Austin: That’s 5x the Amazon deal from last week (690 MW, also Constellation), and Oracle is lining up Point Beach too. How much nuclear is left to sell?
Marvell Sees $70-90B in Revenue by 2031
Lots of positive growth forward for Marvell according to CEO from their analyst day today.
Tokyo Electron Forecasts Operating Profit Above ¥1 Trillion as AI Tool Orders Surge
Tokyo Electron has forecast operating profit exceeding ¥1 trillion for the current fiscal year, driven by surging orders for deposition and etch tools used in advanced AI-chip fabrication nodes. That threshold, rarely crossed by equipment makers, reflects chipmakers’ accelerating capital expenditure on the infrastructure behind large-scale AI workloads. The company’s Korean subsidiary is moving in lockstep: Tokyo Electron Korea has opened triple-digit hiring across 19 roles with a January start date, a recruiting push that points to a service and support backlog extending well into 2027. Korea sits at the center of that demand, home to the leading-edge fabs of Samsung and SK Hynix. Headcount at the local unit expanding at this pace while headquarters clears the trillion-yen profit bar tells you where the orders are actually landing.
Vik: High tool demand like this means more hardware is coming. Note the hiring - field engineers who install and maintain the tools, triple-digit across 19 roles, January start. That’s a service backlog stretching into 2027…. WFE 🚀🌙
Seagate and Toshiba Compete to Acquire TDK’s Magnetic-Head Business
TDK is weighing a sale of its hard-drive magnetic-head unit, with Seagate and Toshiba both in the running as potential acquirers in a deal that Bloomberg reports could reach into the billions of dollars. Magnetic heads are the read-write components at the heart of every hard-disk drive, and TDK is one of the few remaining suppliers. Whichever company lands the unit would absorb a critical piece of HDD supply that currently serves the broader industry, folding an independent component source into a vertically integrated rival. Seagate already dominates nearline HDD capacity sold into hyperscale data centers; Toshiba competes in the same market. TDK has not confirmed a timeline for the process or a final shortlist of bidders.
Vik: TDK is the only independent head supplier, and Toshiba leans on it entirely. If Seagate lands the unit, Toshiba’s sole source ends up sitting inside a rival.
